Please download AUTOSPA or SPAPRO from the Beggins Website using the Form Finder and searching on "SPA"
I recommend creating a folder named "SPA" and either putting it in "MY DOCUMENTS" or
on your "DESKTOP".
In either case, you can create a shortcut on your quicklaunch bar by dragging the icon to it after you save it. If you don't know what the quicklaunch bar is then ignore this part.
Using the new SPA is a snap. Before using it the first time, though,
you need to do two things. Set the Macro Security to Low, and set
Trust Access to Visual Basic Project.
The first allows the macro to run, and the second allows it to delete
itself before saving the file with a new name. This prevents the macro
from running every time you open your SPA, Which would be annoying.
The good news is that you only have to do this once.
Here's how you do it:
NOTE!! If you have MS Office 2007 then the set up
is different.
Until I have time to put detailed instructions online, please try this. (You can always click on Help
and search for Macro Security.) First click on the Office 2007 icon in the upper left corner -- it's
that red green and blue swirly thing. Then on the window that opens look at the bottom border and
click on Excel Options. From there you need to enable the "Developer Tab" to the Excel "ribbon."
Once you have the Developer tab on your ribbon, you just click it and look for the Macro Security Level,
which you set to low -- even though it's not recommended and the "Trust Access to Visual Basic Project"
check box, in which you should, surprisingly enough, put a checkmark.
In the meantime, if you have an older version of MS Office these steps should see you right.
1. Open Microsoft Excel and click on the TOOLS Menu Bar Selection.
2. Click on the OPTIONS selection on the drop down menu.
3. Click on the SECURITY tab.
4. Click on the MACRO SECURITY Button.
5. Click on the LOW Security radio button. (Yes, even though it's not recommended.)
6. Click on the TRUSTED PUBLISHERS tab.
7. Click on TRUST ACCESS TO VISUAL BASIC PROJECT.
There. All done.
